Shu restaurant is a high-end Japanese ‘Kushiage’ restaurant based in Paris.
I worked on new branding for their menu a year ago. The brief was to use the new branding and renew the landing page with a booking system and three languages: Japanese, French and English.
The focus for the site was tablet and mobile, as their target audience includes people on holiday from other European countries and Japan.
The new site includes an integrated booking system with a calendar and the option to select the number of people. I switched off the animation on the mobile version for faster loading time.
As their server is based in the UK and very slow, I implemented a plug-in to use the closest server to the user.
